Hey guys, newbie here I have a 79f150 460 auto CC, AC amfm jade green with green int. I've had it for about 24yrs just pulled a marti report and found out that it also has a tilt wheel problem is that the lower clip that holds the tilt bale is broke in 3 pieces, does anyone have a column that is bad but has the clips? My wife passed away last January so I need to get it back on the road just to keep me from going strir crazy, let me know if anyone has any, thanks
The thread below has contact info for DRB Fab. he rebuilds columns and has sold parts in the past. The OP of that thread also came across a spare column that MAY have the clips and MIGHT sell them to you. You both show your location as California.
About the truck, is gonna only get harder to find parts for the tilt wheel column .... you might consider swapping in a maybe easier to find fixed position / non-tilt column and just hang on to the tilt column in case you find the needed parts. I once bought a tilt column (was a shop liquidation auction, I thought it would be handy, cool even) to put in a car, car had a 4 speed so no shifter parts, and after a little bit of work, etc ('67 Impala SS column in a '67 Chevell SS, it really was easy), I discovered that I still used it straight. I have a few now with tilt, they all are set straight.
