I have a 12v system on my 51 and I want to convert my system from single pole to dual element to run signals. Has anyone ever used a universal signal switch and wired in LED bulbs. I was hoping to run my signals via universal signal switch, and marker lights via headlight switch.
Im using a led flasher, but not sure how it should be wired in?
Im a novice when it comes to wiring, but any help or diagrams would GREATLY appreciated.
Cheers to this site!
If you want to run turn signals and brake lights on the same circuit in the same lamp, you need what's known as a 7 wire turn signal switch and integrate it with your brake light switch. The Signal Stat 900 is a good unit and very popular, and the wiring diagram is readily available.
If you insist on led bulbs, that's going to be on you. It seems 90% of electrical gremlin questions come from guys having issues with led bulbs. I don't see the thrill, personally. If it were me, I'd skip the newfangled crap and stick with the tried and true 1157's. My 2c.
