I have a 2021 ford f250 with the 7.3 in it and have never liked the transmission in it after hard shifts and everything in between. Well today I was at a stop sign and I went to take off and the truck was barely moving and I look down at the gear selector and it was showing I was still in 10th gear at basically a crawl and then it shot down to the correct gear. Has anyone experienced this? Should I head to the dealership? 77k on the truck
If it were my truck I would at least do an adaptive relearn on the TCM and empty the pan fluid and change the filter at 77k miles.
does this have to be done at dealer? I thought it was a sealed transmission and not really recommended to do fluid changes on them. New to the trucks so I could be wrong

I don't know for sure if the dealer HAS to be the one to initiate the adaptive relearn or if just unhooking that batteries for 30 minutes will work. The transmission is not sealed and they do recommend changing fluid at 150k miles. They are also in the parts selling business so they want to sell you parts when yours fail. It absolutely will not hurt to change the fluid and filter sooner than 150k miles.
