Cruise Control Not Working
The cruise control quit working a couple years ago while I was driving on the freeway. It shut off, I turned it back on, it shut off again. I held the on and set buttons and the cruise turned on again for a few seconds and then shutoff and never turned back on. Since then, I have replaced the brake pedal switch, the clutch switch, the brake pressure switch (and checked the fuses), and have tested all the circuits I can find. Brake circuits have voltages when required, and zero when required. Same with the clutch circuits. I have tested with ForScan and the switch test results in a P0704 code indicating a short to Power. None of my tests and searches have resulted in this. The only part I have not replaced is the steering wheel switch assembly. (the horn works fine when the horn switch is depressed and when the "ON" and "Coast" switches are depressed. I also have a P1106 code (I do not have dual alternators). I don't think it's related to this issue.
Apologies for being in the incorrect year range trucks. My last truck was that year range. Not sure how to correct this in this forum.

I don’t even use it that much even on long trips…don’t like the way it modulates the throttle, but if it didn’t work I suppose I’d be annoyed and want to know why, same as anything else that isn’t working right. (That inop parking brake light ticked me off for the longest time.)

I for one am a fan of cruise control and use it often. I was able to attain 12.3 MPG at ~18,000 GCVW over a 5,500 mile trip from GA to ID and back using cruise control.

initialy ASSumed that it was the brake master switch so i just ordered one and when i went to swap it noticed that somebody had already installed a new one with the fuse kit. then I used forsan and it said bad switch but it took me a while to find one on ebay and it was not oem. wires were just barely long enough. fixed it right up.
disassembled the fusebox and cleaned any corrosion
replaced all bladed fuses in fusebox
replaced CPP
replaced Brake pedal switch
replaced brake pressure switch on master cylinder
checked continuity on clutch switch circuits to the PCM
checked continuity on brake switch circuits to the PCM
sent in PCM for refurb: rejected due to PCM in good condition
checked 3rd brake light
KOER Test - got the P0704 code
jumped cruise indicator in instrument cluster: works fine
performed monitor test with Forscan per Sous instruction/attachments - I got the CPP circuit to be "NO" (not on, weird)
-cruise: off
-CPP: "NO" (never changed)
-TCS: On
-SCCS: cruise switches all work
-Park_brk/BOO/BP: all work and cycle
-recall harness and fuses checked - good to go and forscan cycles the BP switch
I probable missed some tests that were performed.
On the circuit diagrams, there is one with a splice 205 that has the clutch pedal (C257 pin 4) go to circuit 810 to ground out. Another circuit diagram does not have this ciruit go through the brake pedal ground, but instead go directly to fuse 45. I have the fuse 45 circuit in my truck. Both diagrams show for Excursion, Super Duty Series F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550 '02. I need to zero in on the clutch sensor circuit i think
Does the cruise 'On' switch value switch from off to on when you depress the button on the wheel?
Isn't there an issue with the third brake light bulb burning out and taking down cruise?
EDIT: Oops... I see you checked the 3rd brake light.
