Idling

Hello all. I have a couple general questions about idling while fueling and for a short period of time, I.e. going into the grocery store to grab a couple items. What are your opinions or suggestions? Is it generally ok to do so to avoid harming the motor or causing wear more quickly? With the understand that is not generally recommended to do so while fueling, I’m not leaving it unattended.

Thank you.

No harm, but turning it off doesn't matter either, many hundreds of thousands trucks that get turned on when cold and just take off still running today.

Letting it idle won’t hurt it. The 7.3 is perfectly content to idle for hours at a time with no ill effects.
