Kill switch?

2006 F250 6.0

Hey fellas, so I'll be packing up my truck camper in the next few weeks here and spending the next 2 months or so roaming around Canada and one thing I want to do before I head out is install some kind of kill switch to prevent my rig from being stolen when I'm off canoeing, hiking or sleeping etc. Truck has an AirDog so could I wire in an on/off switch for that or would trying to start the truck with the pump off cause damage?

Normally I pull the starter relay/fuse, but I'd 100% end up loosing that on one of my adventures so I'm looking for the best option to prevent theft via a kill switch hidden away somewhere.

Thanks for any help here fellas

If you don't want to hassle with it for now, pull the 70A FICM relay.

I haven't gotten around to doing a negative disconnect kill switch so I do that when necessary.

There are plenty of places to put those relays (once removed) in the truck that are as hidden as a kill switch could be. Just something to consider.

I liked the solution where the horn is activated in the start position at the ignition switch.

A hidden button is installed for starting the engine.

This huge image has been shown in the signature for some time now. Previously, there was only a link.
The form software has probably changed.

That is what I did and I have a hidden kill switch. If they want the truck bad enough they're going to take it.

Best line of defense IMO is take the FICM relay with you.

They'll have to tow it

I am using the Ravelco and like it. Nothing is perfect though. About all that is possible with any system is to prevent the non-professionals from stealing your truck!
