Fluid Leak

Newly purchased 2000 Excursion project truck. Today while working underneath I noticed a fluid leak. Fluid smells like coolant? It is leaking from one to the 4 conduits that go from front to rear of vehicle on the passenger side. Why would coolant be going to the rear or maybe not coolant but sure does smell like it? Also what are these lines for? One is electrical for sure. I'm sure one is fuel. Do these trucks have a fuel return? It is a gas model 6.8. Is one for rear a/c? Thanks in advance.

Coolant would be going to the rear because there is a second heater core in the rear (at least on most Excursions there is, the stripper base models don't have it). The area in the back on the passenger side has both a rear AC condenser and a rear heater core in it.

a picture would help identify it easier. As Anton mentioned, all models have the below setup unless they were the XLS (gov't stripper) model

you should 4 lines running along the passenger frame rail to the rear. Just behind the passenger tire. 2 are for coolant supply and return. 2 are for freon supply and return. the passenger rear corner of the cab interior is where the rear HVAC components are situated. the heat exchanger and fan is here. and the ducting goes up the pillar to the overhead for distribution.

you're lucky it's the coolant line. just regular old hose. the freon lines are not made anymore and replacement means usually getting some custom made. Recommend inspecting and replacing any rubber lines that are suspect.
