I have a 1986 F250 with power door locks. Both actuators are bad. I got some on Amazon and they have several different tips that can be installed. None of them match the rod that came with the originals. The originals just have a 90 degree bend and snap into the plastic clip on the lock mechanism. The picture is of the wrong style actuator.
I looked up different brands and even tried an older model (1984), and they're still the same wrong tips. Any ideas?
After a lot of head banging and Google searches, I determined that this is an 'updated design".I suppose that they assume that the plastic clips won't last this long. If you remove the clip, you can slide the new style arm into the latch lever. It's a sloppy. loose fit, but it works. Since everything is Chinese junk, only one worked.

or you can do what I did and install the Z shaped rod thru the plastic clip and then rivet/ bolt the actuator to the door.
Yes. The one on the Bronco II only lasted a couple years. I replaced the cheap aftermarket part with a used OEM from the junkyard.
