2003 Excursion with 351k miles on it, getting it sight-unseen from a friend... who is hopefully still a friend a month from now. Apparently everything works except the heater doesn't get hot. We'll see if I survive the drive home from San Antonio with it when I go to pick it up.
The way I see it, the body isn't getting made anymore and is worth what I paid for the truck. If the engine blows up, it blows up. Might be my first Fummins, or might make it to 500k. Or you might see an Excursion with a "FREE" sign on the shoulder of I-35 next week........

I absolutely love my Fummins Excursion (also previous a 6.0). No regrets about the swap and would do it again in a heartbeat (perhaps with a few tweaks if the budget allowed, like a ZF6 trans vice the NV4500 I used).
In case you need some inspiration to help you cross over to the dark side, here's the build thread I did for my Excursion over on Cummins Forum.
Side note, I live in the greater San Antonio area (just north of San Antonio in Bulverde TX to be exact). If you want to stop by and look at the Cummins swapped Excursion in person (you know, to fully commit yourself to the dark side) shoot me a PM.
...
I'm hoping the engine DOESN'T blow up and I don't need the swap, but I did already look at a ZF6 kit because I like the stick shift in the dually so much. I might take you up on looking yours over one day.
And Mark no, it's been through an entirely unknown number of people before him. He's had other 6.0s and worked for Ford for awhile so he's generally with it on 6.0 issues, but this truck is a crap shoot. It was priced accordingly More than a 30 rack of Keystone, but less than my last hunting rifle.
A hunting rifle can provide a lot of room on the top end.
With a bull barrel, custom stock, custom bolt/action, bedding, and a Jewell trigger, it can get "up there" quickly! Not to mention Night Force optics, lol.
I think I recall this conversation, but with someone else!!
