99F250 Super Duty with 350k on it. After about 10 minutes of running it starts running very rough like it is missing (injector issue ?). It shifts hard from 2nd to 3rd and steering wheel picks up a solid vibration.
Replaced the fuel sensor and associated wiring on a suggestion from some one (not on FTE) but that did not help
Get FORScan and the OBD II they tell you to get..
Learn to use it.
Pull all the codes and record them, clear all the codes, pull all the codes again and share both results.
Run every test FORScan has... share the results.
All sensors and control items must be OEM from the Ford or International counter guy... Riffraff Diesel, CNC Fab, and Diesel O Rings are proven internet sources.. never anywhere else.
Explain this fuel sensor???????? No idea what you speak of.
Is it throwing an CEL or engine/trans code? That's a good place to start. Seems to me you might have at least a couple things going on. Couple of questions:
- When was the fuel filter changed and the fuel bowl cleaned? The filer quality is very important here. The Motorcraft unit has a hydrophobic barrier that helps keep water out of the injectors.
- Trans fluid condition? Service?
- The frontend aligned? Tire issues? Strange tread wear? I think this is most likely unrelated to the miss and trans issue.
I had the codes pulled and was told the codes were aboout the fuel sensor, its wiring, or possible oil in the wiring jacket under the valve cover. Was also told that inspection of the fuel semsor wiring showed it was varry frayed. So had both sensor and wiring replaced.
Trans was rebuilt 3yrs ago at around 300k miles. I have all fluids such as trans, differentials etc when I have oil changed every 4k miles. It always looks ok.
I will defiantely check the fuel bowl and potential water issues.
