back up lights
i'm not sure i verified that as good yesterday or not but that will be the first one, and then check all the rest. worst case scenario it just stays in her yard until the 4th, when i have an appt to get it to Truck Toys in Sedro Woolley. I just will have to fix it first or sign up for some kind of tow policy like AAA. I'll be back. Ill take my soldering iron and shrink tubes, meter, wire etc in case i find whatever i'm looking for. Right now i'll go back to those diagrams and see what color wire feeds that 5 fuse block. The block itself is on the first (1 of 8) page but all it shows is the fuses and no wires going to it. It's got to be there somewhere. https://www.fordification.net/tech/i...aster_1of8.jpg
Well, this is just wonderful, there is NO MAIN feeder to that fusebox. Each wire leaving the fuse box has it's own wire going TO each individual fuse, ex maybe the headlight sw and the emer lite sw. Both are fed from the Bk/Y wire that seems to go nowhere else but to the fusible link. that wire, and the switches and two fuses are on page 5: https://www.fordification.net/tech/i...aster_5of8.jpg There's a coupe other fuses shown that go to a 'buss' i assume is in the fusebox, then it goes to the ignition sw. Another 'buss' goes to that B/Y wire after it comes from the fusible link. Jeez this is complicated not having the whole diagram on one sheet of paper. Somebody else said they couldnt print it, so I'm not even gonna try. I'm looking at it on a 6ft plus monitor and its easy to see, its just going back and forth btwn pages is a pain.
if ANYBODY can see anything different, or that i'm missing something, please chime in. the diagram doesnt show the size of the fusible links, i hope they are written or stamped on the ones i need dammit.

I cut the scans to eliminate blank page portions. Also, the last one shows locations numbered 8, & 9, & 10, ... but those numbers aren't used in locations of any of the links or CBs listed. Also noticed the "5" says "at starter motor relay" .... but so does the "8". Same duplicating for "6" and "9" and then again for "7" and "10". I don't know why.

well, remember way back in post #18, if anyone read it, i mentioned a toggle switch. well it's wired up as a kill switch. THAT is what killed all my power. The PO ran two wires from the starter solenoid to this toggle sw. one to give it unkeyed power, and then back to feed a small red fusible link that goes straight down from the solenoid to a bundled up mess of wires under the battery. I had hit the switch while putting the new fuse in for the TS. I spent the better part of a day F'g with this thing because i didn't notice doing it. Wow. Sorry for wasting your time but I appreciate your time and posts. My t/s now work, truck starts when it's supposed to, and all is well right? NOT! My brand new n/s switch from dennis carpenter is defective. ON top of all this s, the female part of the connector for this sw is MISSING the shell that is supposed to go inside it!!! I called them and they are sending me a new one, no return required. So in the meantime, i get to change it again, THEN i can see if i have to trace any wires to the lights from the sw. Unbelieveable. I removed the kill switch and re ran the wire between the pos on the solenoid down to that fusible link.
Not to keep explaining my stupidity, but i spent the better part of a day about three months back tracing wires to my side fuel tank to see why the gauge wasn't working. I found out my sending unit was bad, and changed that out. then it still didn't work. I had just about given up trying to figure it out when a friend came by and said "did you change the tank switch on the dash?" i didnt know there was one. it's on the far right of my climate control panel. Says Main and Aux. it was on main and the gauge never worked. toggled it and poof, it worked. Fk! i was too happy to be pissed at myself. Unlike yesterday because i knew that F'r was there and brain farted it away.
