Anyone ever figure out the burning rubber smell? Is my AC compressor cooking and ready to go out or is it the regen? Never smelled this on older f250 during regeneration. It’s transient but you can smelt it in the cab and outside. Kinda smells like cooking brake pads which had me checking the parking brake. Truck is a year old with Only 2k and it’s never even seen rain or grimy roads. FL truck stays in the garage till the boat needs to go in for service. I was idling in the driveway while hitching up the boat and dealing with straps. The rpm’s increased to high idle after a few minutes, but this was after turning on the ac. It’s gotta be AC related or regen related. Maybe regen gets so hot it’s melting something near by?

it happens with both gas and diesel. I had it on my 2024 with the godzirra motor. Haven’t noticed it much lately though. 14,000 miles
2k miles in 12 months - it needs to be driven more. It's likely multiple components getting hot (as they should) when breaking in the truck. Yes, regen will smell hot because it is hot! I haven't watched this 2023 but my 2017 would get close to 1300 degrees. You will smell that if your idling in the driveway or stopped at a redlight. I've got 50k miles on my 2023 now and if the timing is right, I can still smell the regen if I'm parking or sitting still during a drive. It's just a hot process, but it's a normal smell for the truck. You just need to do more driving
OP didn't mention if gas or diesel, but if diesel, when doing a regen for about ten times, it stinks from hot metal. There are still coatings on the exhaust that burn off. The pipes reach 1200 degrees during a regen.
