I put the ESP plan on my truck before the factory bumper-to-bumper ran out. I’ve had it for approximately 15 months. I’ve never had to use it. If I trade my truck in, am I eligible to receive a prorated amount of the ESP plan? I also read on some other site that you can keep the plan with the vehicle when you trade it in and it adds a little bit more value to the new buyer when they purchase it from the dealer.
I wouldn't worry about any added value to the next buyer unless you are selling it privately.
If you trade, then immediately cancel the plan to get the refund, don't rely on the dealer to do it.
You will need to contact Ford to cancel, then contact the dealer you bought the warranty from for a refund of remaining value. If you trade it in, the dealer would rather sell the buyer a new extended warranty instead of transferring which requires a fee.
I don't recall the exact process, but our dealer we work with is really good about turning things around quickly. They took care of cancelling the ESP we had on my wife's F150 and we got a refund shortly thereafter.
However, as mentioned above, if you don't have a good working relationship with your dealer, I wouldn't rely on them to do it quickly without being pestered constantly.

Ford has nothing to do with it. Contact whomever sold it to you. I have sold two vehicles and contacted Flood and they cancelled them and sent me a refund
The Ford dealer who sold it can cancel it for you and you'll get some back - but don't assume you'll get much.
Also an extended warranty it is worthless if you're trading the truck in, as that means the dealer loses the opportunity sell an ESP to whoever purchases the truck from them. They hate to lose a chance to remove more cash from the buyers pocket.
