AC system control module problemAC system control module problem
F-250 2006 with Climate Control Module
When in AC on mode & temp setting above 75 deg & vent setting at dash, air comes out of the dash.
When you drop the temperature setting below 75 deg, the air blows out of the windshield area. Move the temp back up & it transfers to the dash.
Auto Repair shop said they tried a rebuilt climate module, and it did the same thing.
That doesn't make sense to me.
They put in a used vacuum control module and had the same problem.
Totally confused at this point. Their solution is to bypass the vacuum module and have the dash only in all conditions.
Here in Florida, I seldom would need defrost, so I agreed to that solution.
They did a vacuum test & even used a new vacuum pump. No leaks found.. They suggested that the vacuum control module may have an internal leak, allowing more than one baffle to actuate.
They had my truck for two weeks waiting on this part, then the other. I gave in to the always-on dash just to get my truck back.
I don't know how moving the temperature setting would change the vent selection.
Thanks for your input.
The usual culprit is either the hub/ axel seal , 1 or both lines going to the axel ,even the switching hoses under the hood .
I guess I would start by switching to 4 high with the heat or a/c on , and see if the airflow divers to the defrost position from the dash or floor , and determine if the hubs are intact locking .
I deleted the vacuum hubs , and just run with the hubs locked .
