Intake manifold bolts?

I’m getting ready to install my lower intake manifold on my 95 f150 351w.

when removing the intake manifold, I broke the the two front bolts off. One in the front of each head. I can simply buy new bolts but the back two bolts where studs and I believe the front two were studs as well.

im going to buy new bolts but my question is, do the back and fronts need to be studs for any reason? I cant remember anything else going over the top of the studs. Can anyone give me some pointers on this. I don’t wanna regret using regular grade 8 bolts when I need a stud in the right place

I plan to re use the two bolt/studs that hold up the solenoid perch.
thanks everyone

I don’t have studs in those locations. There is no reason to use grade 8 either. The lower intake manifold is torqued to 23-25 ft-lb so grade 5 is more than enough

I was just getting grade 8 for the goldish color. Thank you a lot for the reassurance.

what sizes are the bolts? i figured out they are the same size for the upper and lower, but slightly different lengths. i have the shop manual but all it says is yes there ate bolts. mkne disappeared along with the bolts for the fuel rail and the hold-down bolt for the distributor.

the blots I just got were 5/16-18x2 for the lower. Except for the front driver side corner of the lower intake. I used 5/16-18x2 1/2.
for the upper intake, the bolts I took out were 5/16-18x 1 3/4. Except for the T40 bolt

There are two bolts on the drivers side, that may look like studs, but have stand offs for mounting the coil.

From the 1989 service manual:

How did you lose all of those bolts? They are probably all in the same place that you left them.

I have the lower intake on but the book shows the bolts but not the sizes. went to the hardware store and bought some studies and nuts now to get the bolts for the fuel rails.

Why would it show the sizes? You should already have the bolts. It does show that there aren’t studs in all the places that were mentioned to have them.

Good luck finding the fuel rail bolts at the local hardware store.

Lowes/HD/Ace/Tractor supply will have the 1.25 x 21, just not a flange head which is no great shakes.

I make studs out of 5/16 SS all thread which is damn sight easier than chasing down "correct" length stuff if I lose something.

M6-1.00 yes. I had a hard time finding the 1.25 so I procured some bolts from the junkyard.

Jxn may have it's shortcomings but there is a first class pro level nut & bolt supply when I positively can't succeed at aforementioned sources & under 20 miles.

I lost 2 sets the damn rail hold downs. Junk drawer with leftovers from car audio days gave me 4 substitutes first time.

Of course I found them months later.
