84 4.9 ignition issues

Truck died and back fired couple times now won't start does crank but distributor button doesn't turn. Pulled dist and had a sheered pin in the gear(no signs of damage to gear itself)fixed pin and still won't turn. Removed timing cover to check the camshaft gears and no signs of damage?

Welcome to the forum.

Did the pin shear a second time? If so, is the oil pump jammed?

But have you checked the new shear pin? Not a lot of other possibilities if the camshaft is turning but the distributor shaft is not.

Look at the bottom of the distributor, it's going to have a 1/4 hex drive or a 5/16 hex drive. Look down in the dist hole, you should see the oil pump shaft. Take the correct socket and some extensions. Make sure to tape everything together so nothing will fall into the engine. Slip the socket over the oil pump driveshaft and see if you can turn it around a couple of times. I bet it's locked up.
