I've been looking around for options for a grille/cattle guard for a 1993 F-150. What I've come up with so far is:
Ranch Hand Legend bumper with grille guard built in for around $2k and weighing in around 250 lbs
An Ali-Arc Front Pickup Bumper for just under $3k (no weight listed, but it looks like a beast)
DNA Motoring (sometimes available online) GRILL-G-024-SS for around $400 and weighing in around 60 lbs (they also have a black version)
BFC's BFC-GRGD-FORD92024-SS, but no current price or weight shown as it's out of stock
Go Rhino's 3000 series model for around $700 and weighing 91 lbs
On my '11 F-250 I have a Ranch Hand Legend guard (not the bumper version). I've always liked the look of it, but last year I had an accident where I ended up pushing another car (totally my fault, wasn't paying attention and looking when I was turning in). It creamed the Camery that I hit, and only bent the mount for the guard by about 1/2" back at the top of the guard. Due to how little damage my truck had with this guard in place, I'd like to have something on the '93 F-150, but it looks like they're either mostly there for show (the ones under 100 lbs) or they replace the bumper and look like they'd drag the ground at stock height and cost over half of what I'm paying for the truck.
Now to my question: Does anyone know of a grille guard that I'm missing from my list of currently available (yet maybe even out of stock) grille guards for these OBS Fords?
That looks about like the legend bumper option I had posted above. How do you like it? Does it put too much weight on the front end? Did you need to change the suspension at all to handle it?
