Hi, I live in the UK and I am having trouble applying for my V5c (This would be the TITLE in the U.S.A)
The truck is a F100 (1982) and it has been painted numerous colours (colors) in its life and therefore I can't see any VIN on the DASH or DOOR, however, I found this on the chassis (F10CNA61577)
Can anyone identify it for me? I believe it origanally had a 3.8 V6 with automatic transmission installed but no longer in the truck. I have a 300 I6 with automatic transmission to go in it.
Any help would be appreciated.
No matter how many times a truck has been painted, the VIN tag on the dash should be visible through the bottom of the windshield on the left side.
You might also look for the buck tag on the firewall. It would have most of the information that the door sticker would include.
What's on the frame is a partial VIN, having only basic information for the truck for legal identification. From this decode chart, it shows your truck as F100, 1982, built in Norfolk, VA, by the Ford division with sequential number A61577. https://www.blueovaltrucks.com/tech-...v-i-n-decoder/
He might have a replacement windshield from an 87 plus truck with the black window trim which covers the VIN. You might be able to peek around the black trim and see a portion of the number? Or remove and replace the windshield with an 80-86 version without the black edge.
