The speedo cable/speedo in my '65 F100 is making a rasping noise and the speedo needle jumps around.
i guess some lube is required but wonder how to access the speedo head, does the dash face plate being removed give the access I need.
(my truck has the 'plain' dash with just the speedo,temp and gass guages )
Just replaced my cable. I was able to reach up under the dash from the right side of the steering column and unscrew it from the gauge. It took me about 30 minutes to replace the cable
Don't forget to disconnect the battery negative cable. Even though the speedometer doesn't use any battery voltage/current plenty underneath the dash and in the vicinity. An ounce of prevention...
