Tony, where can you source the rebuild kits for the fuel pump?
Assuming you're running the stock pump, I don't know.
I've been running the Carter 1239011. Other versions out there. Holley and Edelbrock make similar but can be pricey. Rebuild kits aren't real cheap but at least compared to the junk pumps sold nowadays it stands a better chance of actually working.
**edit: knowing that this one needs rebuilding am looking for kit. So far coming up empty handed. Ugh! Will crack it open to see what's inside. Maybe easier to match up parts. With a little bit of luck, what I already have on the shelf will work.
I have a 4 in 1 screwdriver a small allen wrench for the secondaries on the carb. The only time I had a problem was after I restored my pickup, after 30 miles the points failed but I was able to get them to work enough to get the 2 miles home. Put a Pertronix in it 10 years ago and have had no issues since.
For the truck- Spare tire, factory jack, hei module, fire extinguisher, tire pump and plug kit, and a gallon of water. Also keep a tote with towing gear- straps, different size ***** and wrench to change it, winch controller, ****** block, etc. If its a long trip I'll take a tool set. In 21k miles I've only ever needed to change the pickup in the distributor on the side of the road, and I gave away the water to a guy that was overheating at a car show.
Whatever happened to that build of the 66 you were doing? Not the tan and white one, the one after that.
