when I took off the PS pump and A/C compressor off to do repairs on the pulley for the PS, I noticed a wire that was burned thru
from touching the manifold in past days. The wire (orange/white) leads to a push on connector with a threaded nipple. The valve
screws into a octagonal block that connect to the lower part of the block (next to the oil filter).
I cleaned up the wire, put heat shrink sleeves over the bared sections and put them inside new wiring loom protective shield.
They all have that. What I’m saying is that after ‘87 Ford put a resistor in the circuit and changed the sending unit to a pressure switch so it was longer a real gauge.
Those big bell type senders are for a gauge system and they were common to leak

Oh, it was caked on with grimey oil slime ....that pic was taken after an hour of so of cleanup.
