My door open chime goes off even with no key in ignition. I have removed the black and pink wired contact from the ignition tumbler and the chime still goes off when the door is open. The contact has continuity to ground (when removed). I trace the black and pink wire into a harness. Can someone help me find the next point to check?
Good point, lights were definitely off but I should check that one too. It stops chime when the door is closed (or latch is thrown) and I thought lights on chime would go off even with door shut. A few questions:
Is it correct that the black and pink wire to the ignition tumbler is a ground?
Where is the next point to check the "door open, key in" chime?
Where would I look to check/disconnect the "lights on" chime?
Thanks for any help on this
Disconnected both batteries to charge. One has drained to many times and won't take charge so now must be replaced. Fiddled with the tumbler a bit and when I connect one of the batteries no chime for a couple minutes. Turn to start then back off and still good so I think I got it. Then it starts to ding again next time I open the door. Disconnected for a few minutes, reconnect wait a minute or two and starts again. Longer I disconnect the longer before it starts to ding. Any ideas?
