Which clutch fork do I need?

Hi guys! I'm usually in the Dentside section, but I have a question that I think is for Bullnose trucks. I'm swapping a 300 into my truck and it came with the bellhousing but not the clutch fork. I think it's from an early '80s setup because it had a mechanical clutch linkage, but it doesn't look like any of the '70s clutch fork styles will fit. Can anyone tell me what clutch fork I need based on these pictures?

I dont remember what mine looked like as it has been like 7 years since it was apart.
If that is from a 80's truck it would have to be 80 - 82 as I think it was 83 they went juice clutch and the bell housing might have changed along with the fork.

Do you have a bell housing with the right fork as the only thing(s) you have to worry about is bolting to the motor, small or big block, and the transmission to bell.
Now when I say small block that would be the 300 / 302 / 351 motors.
I dont think you have to worry about how deep it is as I think the input shafts were the same on most of the normal transmissions used.

I also see that pivot un-screws and I am guessing the others you have is a flat blade type that is not bolted?
Is there a casting number, no it is not a part number, on that bell as someone may be able to break it down to know the year as that may help some.

So I see 300 motor, what trans is this going to be used with?

Probably. I'm not sure what it's from originally. Previously it was in rig with a mechanical clutch linkage, but the PO had to keep the clutch fork.

I think I should be good. The previous installation, from the guy I bought it from was the same generation/model/etc. truck as mine. I got the engine air cleaner to oil pan and alternator to bellhousing. So I have the flywheel, clutch and bellhousing (no clutch fork), Motor mounts and motor mount pedestals, throttle cable brackets, etc.

The one from the engine I'm taking out is from an older 400. It has the pivot ball built into the clutch fork and a socket for it to ride in, in the bellhousing.

Well, I figured it out and it's not great news. I asked the original seller to send me pictures and with the pictures I was able to find some info. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...utch-fork.html It looks like it's a one year only part that I can't find anywhere to buy new. I guess I'll be seeing if he can sell and ship me that specific clutch fork or else need to get a different bell housing from the junkyard.

I wonder if the 84> housings will work even being for a hydraulic clutch?
I think why the hyd. is needed for the later years is how / where the slave bolts to where the linkage ones dont have that.
I am thinking because you have linkage you dont have to worry how the slave bolts up jut run the linkage like it would in your truck.
Sorry to say my 81 is linkage, never had a hyd. set up to know. I should have a hyd. bell & fork somewhere and I will try and find it when I got time to see if that is an option.
I cant believe it is that hard to find a small block bell housing that is for linkage
