Brake lights trouble

Now that I have a handle on my 2 speed problems another pops up. I have no fire to the plug that the brake switch plugs into. I checked both prong and socket and have no fire. I have lights I have turn signals and I have hazard flashers but no brake lights. The switch is good I just don't have any current to it. I checked the wiring harness inside the dash and can find no damage. The two wires go into a larger bundle of wires that I think goes through the firewall. Not sure because it was dark when I was working on it. Any ideas anyone? Is there maybe a fuse I am missing or something?

What truck are we talking about? Do you have an existing thread you can tack onto?

OK, '72 F600. I advise either asking all the Qs about your truck in a single thread, or editing your Signature (in your Profile) so it's there. The latter is just a good idea anyway. Sooner or later your general geographic location comes in handy.

On my '73, stoplamp switch power is fed by fuse F-6. I've drawn a line of the most common path, but if you have trailer wiring, air brakes, etc. it can be quite different.

The schematic is all Greek to me so where physically would the fuse be located? In line somewhere or in the fuse block or on the firewall maybe?

Fuse F-6 should be in the fuse block. IDK where that is on your '72, but on my '73 that's over on the passenger kick panel, just ahead of the door, where a leaking windshield leaks on it and corrodes out the wire connections on the back. On mine, there are places for nine fuses, and they are five different fuses. I put pictures and part Nos. (from NAPA) in this post last year.

The above is wiring diagram; a schematic looks similar but conveys different information and generally does not have connectors information.

Found it and the darned fuse was blown. You couldn't tell by looking at the glass. It wasn't discolored. I put in another fuse and low and behold my brakes worked. Thanks to everyone who helped out. You're a good bunch of guys.
