2017 Sync 3 Vehicle Network Communication Error
On a long road trip with the RV and running into some fun electrical gremlins.
Truck: 2017 XLT Premium CC SRW short box 6.7L.
We have an intermitted "vehicle network communication error" on the sync 3 screen with non-working dash. Truck runs and drives fine, but no HVAC, or any other controls.
We've been troubleshoot and narrowed the issue to the passenger side kick fuse box. While literally "poking" fuse number 13, "Instrument Gauge cluster, smart data link" we can reproduce the problem or fix it on demand. Expanding out the "poking" it appears that me pressing anywhere on the fuse box results in the same issue, so I don't think it's the fuse itself.
I reseated all the connections to the fuse box I could see.....lots happening there. Anybody have a similar issue or thoughts? Trying to decide if I have a wiring issue or need a new fuse box.
Truck only has 70k miles but the last 3k have been VERY rough roads. I'm wondering if there is a known wiring issue or fuse box issue with this location.....
Thanks!
Next step I would do is look for worn wires, pull fuse box and see if all looks good behind it. Look for any green corrosion etc. Got to be frustrating!
Good luck with it!
