2019 F250 Powerstroke: I just recently installed the XB's on my truck and at first all was good. about a week later I noticed that the outer Halo on the passenger side was off one morning. So I started trouble shooting and could not figure out what was going on. To summarize......With the selector switch is the AUTO position upon starting the truck everything worked as normal. After a few miles down the road the HALO would go off. I could toggle between AUTO and ON and the HALO would come on again. I tried just running the switch in ON position and the same thing would happen. I also noticed one morning parked in front of a business that when I turned on the turn signal it would work, but when I turned it off the HALO would not light back up, so I thought the light must be faulty. I contacted MORIMOTO and their customer service was spot on and set up a replacement. Installed the new replacement and just like the first one it worked for a few days and started doing the same thing mentioned above. So at this point I'm thinking something must be wrong with my wiring harness. Well I contacted MORIMOTO again to maybe help with troubleshooting and they stated that they have never had this issue before and maybe I received another bad light, so without hesitation they sent me second replacement. I installed the 2nd replacement last night and drove the 20 mile commute to the gym pulled in the parking lot and low and behold the damn HALO was out!!!!!.....At this point I do not know what do. I am hoping that this has not been an issue for anyone but if so maybe you can help me out.
FYI....the only deviation I made from the install is that I did not tap the DRL's into the fuse box, I ran them to one on my Upfitter switches so I can control manually and they work fine.

When I see a bird that walks like a duck and swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, I call that bird a duck...
First of all, try the most obvious thing and install the headlights as specified by the manufacturer.
I have a 2022 and did the full light upgrade, SO GLAD I DID!!! They are 100% better than the stock lights!! I would double check to see if you have the correct set. Meaning, when I was looking at them, they were very specific about the type of stock lights (haligen or LED) and the model of the truck, XL, Lariat.....etc. Check to see if your Sync software is updated. Just my 2 cents
Lots of posts on here about what garbage Morimoto lights are.
And lots about what garbage the CP4 is, and lots about what garbage the 7.3 lifters are. Then there's the majority who don't have a problem and don't feel a need to post to that effect. I've had a fair amount of trouble free XB headlights. I know many others who have trouble free XB headlights. I don't deny some have had issues but like the other things I mentioned it's not the majority.
As others have stated, they look cool but unfortunately aren't reliable. You'll be going back and forth between lights replacing them and trying to repair them (ask me how I know). If it were me, i'd try to get my money back and do a conversion with OEM Bi-LED's.
The lights do crazy things if all the bits aren't on at the right time. I had issues with the headlights not working at all if the outer light ring wasn't turned on (also wired to upfitter).
I actually don't use auto mode much and go all off, off with drl for lower light conditions, running lights w drl on for parking idle at night, and drl.on then headlights on for full night driving.
What slot do you have it installed in? What direction are the fuses facing? towards the front or towards the rear of the truck?
The instructions show to install pointing to the front, but using a meter, the hot side was on the other side, so my fuse tap needed to be changed facing the rear. (when it was facing front it ended up blowing the 10amp fuse for the camera as all power was flowing through that because the hot side was on the wrong side. When the fuse blows, the headlights also work properly in ON, but the passenger side light "reboots" when the truck is running.
edit: just saw you wired to upfitter. But, you state "it works fine"? Were they wired with the tap originally and they didn't work and now on the upfitter they do? if so, it was the fuse orientation.
If the same thing happened twice, I'm thinking your harness/wiring is the issue, not the Morimoto's. My experience with them has been flawless. Did you explain to their tech help how you wired them, skipping the fuse box?

I believe it's right here. NOT disclosing the entire story.
"IF" the entire wiring was told and the short cut told with the issue continuing then it's a flaw in the lighting.
Decision return and replace or go with other suggestions in the thread.

I need to rephrase this by saying my experience had been flawless for the first 8 months. The DRL's no longer work, Morimoto tech support has been less than responsive. It appears the only solution is to warranty return the headlights and that is very inconvenient to say the least. Morimoto won't send replacements without receiving the old ones first - what do you do for headlights?
I had a similar issue with Morimoto Lights on my 2020 F250. They replaced the right one and then it happened again. I looked close at the wiring and noticed that the ground wire terminals looked black and the wire that Ford used is way too small and the wire that Morimoto uses was too small and the terminals were getting hot. I cleaned everything up and used Dielectric Grease on all of the terminals. I also wired the daytime running light to one of my overhead switches so I only use them during the daytime. If everything is used at the same time the ground wire gets hot. I haven't had the problem return for over two years knock on wood.
I just had to warranty mine for the 3rd time in two years. First two times dealing with them was easy. This last time was an absolute mess. I had the passenger side strobing randomly. Finally got a complete replacement after a month of them saying they would send it. Nightmare
