Change the bulbs first (no need on the headlamps unless out), though check the harness plugs. If the problem still exists change the flashers, they feed everything else. use a HD one, an electronic one is better then a thermal 552. Then the headlamp switch. The relay in the headlamp switch is probably bad, they can go bad or go bad from towing a trailer and being overloaded.
I didn't know the 1st and 2nd gen headlight switches were different. I know mine had issues with the headlights not staying on all the time until I replaced the switch and fixed the connector. Switch had overheated and melted part of the connector, am guessing due to loose contact between the two. Oddly enough, it was the running light wire that burned.
Usually, if the blinkers don't flash, it's a burned out bulb. Sometimes the flasher(s). Sometimes the turn signal switch. Sometimes the headlight switch, depending. Sounds like you have a lot of gremlins to tackle. Good luck!
hey thanks for the replies guys yea the blinkers do flash only when the headlightts are off sry but im not to smart when it comes to cars even tho i want to be lol wht does it mean charge ur bubls
what may be the problem is that it has a bad ground circut if you can find the ground connection and clean it up may fix it when the headlights are on not enough electricity is flowing thru the flasher for it to function do the turn signals light up but not flash?
Check the tire presure.. haha just kidding. First I would look for the ground .. most electrical problems like you are describing are due to a weak or faulty ground connection. I don't beleive it's the light bulbs but I do think it could be the flasher. Replace that as it's the cheapest and easiest fix. If that doesn't work then I'd go for the switch next. Good Luck. Home
hey guys thanks alot for the hints i realized wht the prob was i had a plug for the hitch trailer wht ever ran to the tail light took tht out prob solved must have been a short in the wire or sum thin thanks alot tho
