I installed the Warn Premium hubs tonight. Took 1 hour to do the left side, then I got the hang of it and the right side took 7 minutes.
I will test it tomorrow. Wish me luck
CAPTMIKE - Enjoy the warns. I have a set on my no nrunning bronco and factories on the running one. Manuals are soooo much better.
ABADDRIVER - Sorry to make it sound like I was jumpin your case. Wasnt meant to be that way. Just remember tho, if the part is in the list, there is a reason for it. You should check the rest of your parts in there tho for wear or damage since you heard that grinding to begin with. Just in case ya know.
Originally posted by 90ebbronc Ok not to sound stupid, but i just had this happen to me. I had this metal to metal grinding noise coming from the front left as well. Then finally i hit something and it was the same sound. Not to sound like a smarta'' but it was my center piece on my wheel. The screws were loose and needed tightening, it stopped the grinding noise. Might wanna check that as well, it fooled me so it could be it.
Thanks for the advise, I've had a rubbing/grinding noise myself since I had my manual Warns put on, Guess what? I checked the center cap on the left front and one screw was loose, A little tighty righty with a screw driver and the noise was gone
well i got the part put on today. no resolution. i tried tightening the center peice, no luck. ive begun thinking that it might be something in the front differential cause i can feel it vibrating now.
bad thing got worese.

OK, I spent all day saturday working on the truck. Put in new front universal joints, As I was backing the truck out of the shop I had a rear brake line blow so no brakes. Back in the shop to fix that. I installed the Warn hubs last tuesday.
Tried the 4 wheel drive out last night and the grinding nois is still
there. Sounds like metal on metal. I checked the wheel bearings and they were ok. It only makes the noise in 4 wheel. Would it make a noise in 2 wheel if the bearings were no good?
Could it be the front diff?
Any ideas with this would be good.
Thanks.
tomorow me and my mechanic freid are gonna tear into my truck, hopefully we can find some info. Ill let yall know if we figure something out. he told me eveything you guys said so far so im waiting to see what his magic can do for me.

it couldnt be something stuck in the traction beam scraping against the axle shaft or somethign agains the drive shaft? i have seen stuff get caught up around the axle inside of the traction beam and do some weird things. My first thought was wheel bearings, cause my truck did the same thing when the wheel bearings were tearing themselves up. Made different noises in 2wd or 4wd. Luckily i made that 300 miles highway trip home with the noise. Opened up the hub and wheel bearing parts started falling out. ... But you already said you checked that. well, just my 2 cents.
