I think these carbs came on some fords??? It is on a cj7,, first it was stuck closed,, no fuel,, simply took the top off,, freed and inspected float and now it will not shut the fuel off. everything swings freely,,, assembles easy,, what tiny piece is missing?
THis is a barn find,THe seat looks good, the needle is there and looks perfect, the entire carb is new,, just sat for ?years
Jeeps under AMC, and I think all the rest of the AMC line at the time, used Ford 2100/2150 2bbl carbs.
If the needle and seat are present, then the question would be float height. If the float is the right height and the needle still leaks, it's time for a new needle and seat.
The kits for these contain a gauge for measuring float height.
This will give you more info. 2100 has a rounded casting in the back. The 2150 is straight across.
I figured it out,,, the float was a little out of adjustment and there is a spring/latch thingy that samps behind the seat,, It was not in place allowing the whole assembly to rise instead of pushing the needle down when the bowl filled
