VIN Information recovery

Hi My name is Pete Becker. I own a 1989 Ford L9000 Aeromax semi tractor. I believe it is a 14,000 pound front axle and a 23,000 pound rear axle with 155 inch wheel base. The VIN doortag sticker has faded to the point where the only legible info on it is the actual VIN. Can the remaining information that is on the tag be recovered from the VIN? I have owned the truck for about 30 years and have never needed this info for annual inspection and emission testing. Now it is required. I need to find the missing codes and have the sticker remade. Can anyone help me. Thanks, Pete

Have previously been in contact with Auto Data Labels and they indicated to me that in addition to the1FDYY95X800352 VIN, they needed the GVWR, Wheelbase, TYPE GVW code, BODY code, and AXLE code. I was wondering if this information was possible to obtain from the VIN?

A cop taught me this trick, try shining a flash lite at an angle on the sticker. Sometimes you get the light just rite and you can see things not visible without the lite.

I copied your VIN post over.

1FDYY95X800352

That's only 14 characters. Your VIN is 17. Please check it and advise.

Good idea on the flashlight.
