Seems like there used to be a VIN decoding thread...anyone?

Yes. Look up! at the articles and specs, click on the bottom line of the drop down.

Thank you...I guess I was under the impression that this VIN decoder would tell me my gear ratio in my rear end.....

I wonder where I got that idea?

It's not in the VIN #, There is an axle code under the VIN on the sticker.
