Angry Another oil cooler thread

I live in Vegas and the truck was leaking oil out of the coolant reservoir in Kansas. Classic oil cooler seals or so I thought.
Got it towed to Denver and went home to return another day.
Flew to Denver and replaced the seals. Drove it for a day around town and things looked good.
However, it made it to Grand Junction and then started leaking oil into the coolant again.
I nursed it home to Vegas and pulled the cooler again.
A dirt bike front tube clamped on each end and a pan of water shed light on the issue as this link shows Oil Cooler pressure test
My recommendation would be to always check the tube for leaks before putting the Orings (from Diesel ORings) in and wasting new oil and coolant like I did.
If I had done that, I would not have had to do this twice.
New tube on its way from Diesel Orings. sigh

Thats a tough one to go through, they usually leak oil out at the outer seal on the cooler

An internal leak usually isnt the issue with orings as they dont usually harden up like the external ones do.

I would say the position you were in, this would easily be overlooked...especially when traveling. Glad you made it home and were able to find the issue though. Also crazy how expensive those coolers are now.

I have a brand new oil cooler sitting here but I don't know which end goes where.
There is a different spacing of the oil baffles on the one end. Pic below
Does it matter which end goes where?
I would call diesel orings but it is Sunday of Memorial Day weekend.
Any help would be great so I can finish the job.
Thank you
Jeff

Did you figure it out? I don't believe it matters which direction it's installed. I even checked the service manual and there's no mention of it.

It does not matter which end goes where.
The indentation signifies that it was made by International and is, therefore, the OEM part and not a knockoff.
