400 stuck distributor

does anyone have any tricks on how to get the distributor in my 400 loose? iv'e tried all mine and it still won't come loose. thanks oldcarnut........77 super cab, transplanted 400 from a ranchero.

Have you tried soaking it with PB Blaster? Will it turn at all or just not pop up out?

i haven't tried PB blaster but no, it won't even turn it's stuck tight and i need to adjust the timeing pretty bad. i hade the same problem with the 352 in my 60 t-bird and ended up breaking it

My dist. is stuck also in my 400, the best fix I heard so far is, remove the top, wrap a chain around it, and use a large auto body slide hammer to pull it out. The penetrant sometimes work but not always. The slide hammer will always work.

Being my truck runs fine as is, I'm leaving it alone for now.
