I have a 92 f150. 5.0. It will only stay cranked in start position. Soon as I let go of key it turns off. I have replaced the ignition switch. New neutral safety switch. Distributor. New stator. If anyone can help that would be great. I have know idea what I'm doing on this ford website either. Thank you and GOD Bless
Did you do the key cylinder as TJC mention? It could simply be its so wore out you only get on or the off.
If you haven't messed with the starter solenoid. It might be possible it’s bad. It’s only a $20 part and NAPA is having a 20% off sale.
Based on what exactly? The ignition lock cylinder doesn’t actually start or shut off the engine. The ignition switch down on the lower column does that.
Please don’t suggest throwing a part at something because it’s “only $20” and there is a sale right now.

Did you test the switch? Sometimes the metal and plastic parts separate from each other and cause weird issues. It only takes a couple minutes to look at the switch to see what is happening when you turn the key.
Well I tried to start the truck by the switch by itself and the metal pin wouldn't push all the way over I didn't realize at the time what I was messing with.. like I said everything I've learned is by YouTube or asking a few older gentlemen I know that works on vehicles. It wasn't even turning over then I changed the distributor and it Crunk up only in start position thou..

he has a 92, which is a different switch from the 91 and older you are thinking of. it is in the column itself, not down bottom like on the older trucks. but the switch could still be bad...
Agreed, replace the switch
But
The simple test to prevent a recheck, or to prevent replacing a good part, is just to check key on power at the coil, and see if it goes away when you let go of the key
