So I had to put a new rear end in my truck and I found a good deal on a 3:31 gear ratio and installed it my front differential is a 3:55 I’ve had to use 4x4 once or twice and haven’t had any problems I’m just curious if there is any chance of damage from using 4x4 with mismatch gears
I would definitely not run on high traction situations.
But in all realistically worldy ****. 3.3 and 3.5 are very close to the same. I think ford used to run a faster front gear a few hundred years ago. But then trucks werent doing 90 down the freeway with the driver texting. Things are very different now.

The difference was like 3.89 and 3.92... .03 difference. 3.31-3.55 is quite a bit different. I don't see this being a good combo, even off road.
