We are planning a 2.5 week trip pulling the RV to the desert south west and I've been doing all of my preparations and maintenance items ahead of the trip. Had the origional equipment batteries checked and they were sitting at 70% capacity and one showing the beginng stages of leaking. So I decided the prudent thing to do is replace them. I went with NAPA's AGM series. I can say, these are notable heavier than the OE batteries. All I have to do is look at the start button and the engine spins like a top. The truck is a 22, built late 21.
Expensive but thats the cost of doing business I suppose.
I installed a battery tender for my batteries. I think that really helps keep them maintained especially if your truck sits for an extended period of time.....

I am going to load test mine. Having a couple of odd things on my dash. Clock reverted to 24hr format, ac sometimes changes setting at startup, and I have gotten a dimming lights three times now at startup. I have learned here of the voltage sensitive nature of these trucks and how this is an early warning. I do keep a 400A jumper in my center console in case but if it is time, it is time. For reference I bought my truck used January 23. I will look for a date stamp on the batteries(Motorcraft). Might go with the Wallmart AGM's. From what I understand no forscan needed for the charging parameters.
