my luck, 3 yr warr free replacement on batteries. But sticker says 2/11....wonderful. Truck sat for a week, but noticed the last month that it was get'n weak to start. Anyone else had better results then 3yrs with costco/kirkland batteries or have a better alternative?
Sears Die Hard and Interstate batteries have always done me well. They are both made by the same company. I can't explain it but I always get 6 years or more out of a battery.
I've always had good luck with the Kirkland batteries. My current set are at 5 years now, and they still load test great. Truck cranks as fast as it did when they were new. No severe temperature extremes here, and my truck sits unused for long periods of time, putting less than 3k miles a year on it, so maybe that has something to do with it....???

ya man. I heard chevy comes with kirklands. Not that, that was the reason i went that route, but sure helped making my decision....I do 25k-30k a year, so maybe that might be the short-life. Volt gauge reads 13.5-14ish when driving, so i think my alternator is doing its job. I do have to clean the terminals more then i like though, too
I think that there a a couple of manufacturers that make Costco batteries. Johnson Controls makes some of them and they are among the best out there. Just need to check which ones they make for them.
i read the thread, Pop, and saw my post on last page...considering the "depth" you put-forth in finding out information before pulling the trigger, i went back to Costco. To my surprise, they pro-rated them at $55.00 w/ core-charge. So, $130.00 i had toward new batts. Went ahead and bought the same ones, $80.00 outta pocket with 3yr warranty. Cant beat that

The warranty starts the day you purchase it, the sticker is the manufactured date. Call Costco and ask what day you purchased them. Costco cycles their batteries every 6 months, but the 65 is a popular seller so you might only have a month on the shelf.
You have to love Costco's warranty, everything you buy is tied to your card so they can tell what you bought and when. I bought a printer about a year ago and it went bad, I returned it and was refunded the full price that I paid. Went to the printer shelf and found the same printer on sale. problem was not one I was worried about repeating. Saved $25.00! I also bought Costco batteries last December to replace 6 year old Motorcrafts.
As best I can tell, I just replaced my original 2001 Motorcraft batteries last year! The old batteries had no date stickers (where you knock out the month and year for warranty purposes) on them, so I assume that they were installed on the production line. I bought new Kirkland batteries from Costco, and they seem to be identical, down to the letters/numbers burned into the cases, except for the sticky labels. I think both use the same vendor, but who can tell about the guts?
