I just installed a couple of the new group 65 Platinum Diehards. I have to say, it's like a different truck when starting. I had just grown to accept that my truck takes longer to start than any of my buddies powerstrokes. The previous set of batteries were a pair of 750cca Diehards. Even when these 750cca batteries were new, my truck would take longer to start than I thought acceptable.
If your looking for a couple of really strong batteries, the Sears Diehard Platinum with 930 CCAs are champions.
yea i replaced my batteries on wednesday went out to go and start it and dead tried chargin them but nuttin. so i went to fleet farm got two new batteries real nice 880cca fires like a champ now
I had gone Cheap and chaged only one of my batteries earlier in the year, just a little tip for anyone thinking of doing this..DON'T. I replaced the second one and and it's now a much less stressfull event starting at below freezing temps now.
I just put in two new Yellow top Optimas (deep cycle) to the tune of $425. Needed them to feed my hungry audio system that wouldn't last more than 10 minutes in a parking lot. Now they are rated for 220 minutes of reserve!
The diehards are not cheap either. 189.00 a piece. They pro-rated my old diehards and I got out the door for just under 260.00. The new ones are totally sealed and mountable in any orientation. Not quite the reserve as your optimas but these are not meant for deep cycle purposes. The construction seems very similar to the sealed optimas.
I couldn't plug it in last night and she fired right up this morning. Got to love 1860cca. All I can say is I better get at least 5 years out of these new batteries.
Just put in 2 new Platinum 1100 cca batteries last week to the tune of $326. They are full replacement 5 year warrantied. Nice. All the others I checked seemed to be 3 yrs replacement with a pro-rating of up to 7-9 years etc. 6 to one, half dozen... I guess.
