Pulling the 390 out of my truck today to try my hand on a first time rebuild. I find a lot of info on lift points for an engine with the top end/intake still on, but nothing for a block. Just wanted to make sure i am good using the front drivers, and back passenger head bolt holes on the block, with a couple grade 8 bolts, and washers to lift this thing out. Thanks!
Thanks.
One more quick one. I have long tubes, with a stock starter, and the old install issues that come with them. Will the passenger header pull up with the engine? Or do i need to pull that damn starter again before? Also will it fit going back in together?
Starter likely OK, headers likely not so OK. I've seen pictures of engines half in or half out with headers attached, but have never seen it done nor even contemplated doing it that way. I too only ever did it or helped do it just as "440 6pk" described, even with more compact manifolds. I think those pics I saw were more like where they got stuck to far in and yet, not far enough.
