i call anything over 300 psi compression on an IDI engine good.
if i remember correctly, new engine is 375-400 PSI.

My NA 1993 has just about 310 on all 8cyls.
I runs great and doesn't use a lot of oil.
Lights right up if I use the glowplugs.
Still wondering about the ticking lifter in the rear pass side... even after I replaced it and the rocker arm
