stock engine and trans combinations

hi everyone, i have a slight dilemma that im having trouble clearing up through my normal research methods.

i am seeking an eec for a 1998 f150 with 4wd, a 5.4l engine and a 4r70w transmission

many google and forum searches have only provided a lot of contradictory information, or failed to clarify this topic sufficiently enough for me to move forward with a solution

using various online parts outlet searches, i've deduced that this specific combination only came as a stock configuration in the natural gas (CNG) variety, for 1998- the 5.4l engine predominantly sat on the 4r100 transmission while the 4.6l would sit on a 4r70w. alot of search results have yielded this to either be true or false with no definitive explanation.

the issue is that my truck now has this configuration as i recently swapped a 5.4l reman engine in place of the 4.6l that was suffering a really bad oil leak into the bank 1 exhaust, i retained my stock pcm (12a650-mb) and have used a moates quarterhorse to adjust my displacement.

upon researching the 5.4 eec strategies and calibrations i see that there is a vast difference between engine specific parameters for the 5.4 and 4.6. also i have found that all of the strategies ive reviewed so far for the 1998 5.4 are configured for the e4od/4r100. i have not found a strategy file for the CNG version of the 1998 5.4l (vin: M).

so my questions are, does anyone have the configuration that i have as a unaltered oem stock item that isnt CNG? and if so then may i please get the part number on the sticker of your eec?, a hardware code and strategy/catch code would be helpful as well but not entirely necessary.

if anyone knows for a fact that the configuration ive specified here does not exist in stock form, please chime in. also, if the answer to my first question is a NO-does not exist, then is there is anyone here who might be or is aware of someone who found a solution for a similar configuration, specifically regarding the strategy and calibration files being used to, please point me in their direction.

if everything here ive asked so far leads to no solution then i suppose i will set aside the time to put together a proper definition file that can take better advantage of this configuration, that is unless anyone here with experience in tuning any combination of these components is willing to advise me regarding the necessity of moving forward in that direction or not, any response is a welcomed and appreciated one.

the truck is running great as it is with the little bit of tuning ive done so far, so this isn't exactly a detrimental situation, id just like to determine if i can continue to pursue something that possibly doesn't exist or go a different direction.

some additional details:
1998 4.6l pcm strat/cal/hw codes: cnab1/fou1/ml2-337
1998 5.4l hardware code: mlc-211

it appears all of the 4.6 strats are confined to the ml2-337 hw code and all of the 5.4 are confined to mlc-211, effectively preventing a calibration that suits the 5.4 completely from being written to the eec which suppports the 4r70w and then remaining a reliable solution.
however through some experimentation i was able to successfully write a 5.4 strat onto my 4.6 eec despite the hardware difference using a moates quarterhorse and binary editor via coretuning llc, and the engine did start and ran seemingly well, the OD light was strobing hard and i didnt attempt to go into gear as i had done nothing to change the transmission scalars in the 5.4 calibration i had tested with.

Should have put the words "eec programming" in the title. Might attract the attention of people who know.

There's also a more specific sub-forum available. Good luck.

p.s. the people at FS1 might be helpful. You never know.

I’d suggest just running it on the stock tune

or get a legit tune from a real tuner

Can't speak for the tuning but the transmission thing as I recall, the 4R70 is for a 2 wheel drive, and the 4R100 is 4x4. I doubt if being a CNG vehicle makes that determination for the transmission.

You are "searching for an eec" is a misleading term at best
You must need a processor for your EEC5 truck?
It goes roughly like this
EEC was 1980 EEC1, was '81 roughly and EEC 3 was feedback carb era
