I have a 99 f250 v10 2wd 4r100, I'm rebuilding the entire truck, the case to the 4r100 is broken, I also have a 98 4r100, it's 4wd tho. Can I take the internals from the 99 one and put it in the 98? The 4wd isn't a problem since I plan on converting to 4wd anyway.
I have a monster transmission rebuild kit, just wondering if I can swap everything over or are they the same? Because everything I see online says the v10 99-03 trans are the same but they leave out the 98 year? Any insight would be much appreciated than you. Left is 99 2wd right is 98 4wd.
Does you original trans hace a speed sensor on top, near the bellhousing? If so, the '98 case won't work because it won't have the mounting point for the sensor. If your original trans does not have that sensor, the '98 case is identical and will work fine.
