has anyone had a problem removing the outer grille shell on their truck. It seems the 2 bolts holding the grill on the both sides behind the front panels are hard to access, any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jeff
I Had the same problem, and ended up removing the whole front grille, headlights, and two side pannels. I didn't see an easier way, but maybe someone else has. Good luck either way.
I'm go to do the same thing to replace the grille, but the connecting bolts to the side panels seems too tight to fit a rachet. I'm thinking even if I do get the bolts out, I'm more concerned about getting the bolts back in.
I recently removed the grill shell on my 74. I had no problem at all accessing the bolts behind the fender. I used a 3/8" drive ratchet with two long extensions and a deep socket. If you need to you can use a universal joint socket to get the proper angle on the bolt. But its been my experiance that its not to difficult.
Does anyone know if you can swap a 75 grill [round headlights] onta a 79 truck[square headlights]. my friend has a 79 with a bashed grill an and has a 75 parts truck with a perfect grill and headlights. Will it all swap over?
Ya it will swap over However Im not sure what he will have to do with the Headlight buckets. I know that Putting 79 headlight buckets on a older truck just requires drilling 2 holes on each side.
