Could you guys help a dummy out? I have ForScan lite on my iPad and I can't figure out how to read DPF status. I can force a manual regen, according to the options. It does ask if my dongle has a switch on it and mine does not. Is DPF status one of the things I can't read without that dongle with a switch on it? Or am I just missing something?
I've look high and low and am not finding anything. Sometimes, it's right in front of me and I can't see it. I can see how to force a regen but cannot find what my filter status is.
trim level effects what you can and can't do with forscan
The Dongle may need an update. I have two, one with the switch, one without. The one with switch doesn't work well with 2019+, so bought the autoswitch one, it needed an update before it could read everything. Regardless of trim it reads every available module the truck has, so if its missing, it wont show up. What you are looking for are generic basics on all trims.
That reminds me, I have been so busy I forgot to renew the license and get the PCM as built for Zoodad. Spring is here adn been working to get all the equipment ready for season, get one thing fixed, find something else broken. That was MY weekend! At least my MoCo was an easy repair, just needed a new pulley, belt and chain. The Baler, needed a new bearing that I had to plasma torch the old inner race off with, only to get it all put back together to find the cam for the sweep fingers jams. Then my 72" finish mower needed new pulleys and the bolts securing the pulleys and upper deck were trashed, $30 for a pair of freaking bolts and nuts. All I need to finish is a zerk fitting to grease the hub I rebuilt and can't find the box of them.
I went through my entire dash monitor and couldn't find a maintenance monitor screen. I'm going to have to believe that my truck, either because of year or trim level, does not provide the % on the DPF.

My did not have it when I purchased it. I paid a 3rd party $100 (A Rod) to enable the functionality with FDRS and or Forscan. It will eventually show up under 'Settings' when enabled.
Hello, I have recently started using FBC Better Diesel catalyst....seems to have greatly reduced my soot levels on my iDash. However my Regen % has not followed the soot levels as it did prior
to using FBC. What is the Regen % showing that is filling up the DPF if it is not soot?? I am doing regens when the soot level is showing only 20-25% load.
