I inherited a 97 explorer as my company vehicle and the previous driver lost the wallet card that the instruction manual says contains the codes necessary to disable the auto door lock feature. When my crews drive my vehicle they are all the time locking the keys in it and I have to get up at all hours of the night to go unlock it. I have put a magnetic key holder on it for them but they will undoubtedly lose that within days so my question:
Does anyone here know how to disable this feature without the original driver code?
I found this module by taking off the jack cover and there's a yellow tag attached to the biggest wire (or wires) going into it. Is the code on that tag or on the module itself? I don't see any sticker on the module but can't see the front of it.
It's on the wire that the arrow that's pointing to the left in your pic is pointing at.
Got it fixed! The sticker was in fact on the module itself. After I got a light on the subject I found it. No more aggrivating door locking at inopportune times!
