Hi All ! I have never posted on a thread site so I am hoping this works. I just traded some Pew-Pews for a 1956 F600 dually 4x4 that has Marmon-Herrington drivetrain & a Y Block 8cyl 312. It has a huge PTO winch in the front bumper and came from Stockton, CA Rural Fire Dept. I have the Budd 5x8 drop-center wheels with tubes and carlisle flaps. I would LOVE to have some Alcoa 22.5" made to fit so I can run a regular semi tire. I have acres of room for wheels/tires but these 5 lug Unicorns are ridiculous to source an aftermarket replcement? I saw where I can send them all off to be torched to pieces and rebuilt with a new rim but I'd rather have solid aluminum modern wheels? Even Super-Singles? My 81 year old mechanic neighbor and I spent an hour gettting 1 tire off the wheel. I'm still sore and that was last Friday! (he did all the sledghammer swinging!)
Any links or companies that can make me some wheels? Everything I run into online is a dead end. IDK where to see them but I put up pics too!
Thanks all,
MIke
First, don't discard your existing BUDD wheels as there are those who look for serviceable units.
There are those on the forum who have gotten new rims from Wheels Now, American Wheel, OTR. They have 19.5, 20, and 22.5 options with the 5 on 8 bolt patterns, but some of those have a different look to them. Not exactly click and order, but a call knowing what you need size and cosmetic wise with a big checkbook and order (and shared quite regularly around here already):
Wheels Now - https://www.wheelsnowinc.com
American Wheel - https://www.amwheelspecialist.com/obsolete/ - They specifically advertise 19.5, 20, and 22.5 solutions
OTR Wheel - https://www.otrwheel.com/ - their website doesn't list our applications. One would have to investigate further.
There are Aluminum options like these where you would need to then machine the 5 on 8 ball seat lug holes:
All the above should be good pointers on a direction to take. You are going to have to be very aware of your front axle tire clearances. Generally, 6.75 wide is about as wide of a rim specification as one wants to go in a stockish setup.

Reason: More and Better Links
Welcome to our small M-H family, and to the forum. The above response from bmoran4 covers things really well. Another source of custom wheels I’ll mention is Custom and Commercial Wheel in the SoCal area. I don’t know if they can do custom patterns in aluminum but had them do a custom set of Budds for me last year and was very happy with the outcome. Stu
Pew pew is an entheusiest slang term for firearm. It's derived from the sound of the discharge, and used on social media or other places where using words like pistol, gun, rifle, etc., could get you in trouble.
HA! I suggested that to my neighbor and he laughed while smacking the rim for an hour! Def not keeping them. They are from the year 2000 and hard as granite!
Thanks!
WOW! That looks exactly like what I have minus the flatbed! I want to get mine road worthy again and then figure out whether I'm going flatbed or pickup bed!
WOW! I am BLOWN AWAY at the amazing info! I've been going cross-eyed on the Google for a few weeks and haven't come close to this! Thank You so much! I'm now leaning towards a steel wheel that uses tubless tires....the adaptors are a legit option. Looks like wheels and tires are gonna cost more than the $4500 I got the truck for in trade!

I have a set of adapters that will fit your f600 and then you can install 22.5 Dayton style rims. I've been saving these just thinking I might need them someday. Reality is I'll never used them. They are pretty rare and not cheap, but once you have these rim/tire options are a lot easier
If you'd be interested in a set of six 20" Ford rims with the snap rings, not WMs, I have a set I just got. I will be removing them from the chassis hopefully this weekend. I'm in SE Wisconsin so shipping might be a killer..
22.5 tubeless 5 lug wheels are out there, just takes some patience. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1896278841117328/?ref=product_details&referral_code=marketplace_general&referral_story_type=general&tracking=%7B%22qid%22%3A%22-9163434770506874846%22%2C%22mf_story_key%22%3A%228995009828904520808%22%2C%22top_level_post_id%22%3A%228995009828904520808%22%2C%22commerce_rank_obj%22%3A%22%7B%5C%22target_id%5C%22%3A8995009828904520808%2C%5C%22target_type%5C%22%3A6%2C%5C%22primary_position%5C%22%3A7%2C%5C%22ranking_signature%5C%22%3A8729102124215698366%2C%5C%22commerce_channel%5C%22%3A501%2C%5C%22value%5C%22%3A0.00028102222115617%2C%5C%22upsell_type%5C%22%3A3523%2C%5C%22candidate_retrieval_source_map%5C%22%3A%7B%5C%2228892852217026802%5C%22%3A3070%2C%5C%2229378436491800064%5C%22%3A3122%2C%5C%228696962560403476%5C%22%3A805%7D%2C%5C%22grouping_info%5C%22%3Anull%7D%22%2C%22lightning_feed_qid%22%3A%22-9163438412802831377%22%2C%22lightning_feed_ranking_signature%22%3A%228729102124215698366%22%7D
