On that note it’s a good idea to check the oil once in awhile. Birds can build these things overnight it seems and some birds (starlings in particular) will keep coming back to the same spot over and over no matter how many times you clean up.
Hoods up, battery tender and 2x mouse traps in the engine bay of the vehicles that are not often used. This method has been working well for over a decade after trying everything else.
What I've ended up finding the most effective is those rat bait green cubes under the hood of each vehicle, along with some bait stations set on each end of the property. This place has a history of rodent invasion into the attic and then dieing in the walls after injesting some fiberglass insulation. Killing them off before they get to the point of finding a way in has made a huge difference.
Thanks for the tips fellas, I’ve had this issue in the past when I lived in the farm land. Birds mice rodents everywhere! The starlings would build nests in the engine valley of my 91 F350 IDI. It was a nightmare to clean up and it happened quite often.
Fast forward to this weekend I now live in a subdivision (yuk) far away from farmland and I haven’t seen a single mouse ever at this place. Figured it was birds again but who knows. I’ll keep a close eye on it haha
