I'm working on a 2000 F350 with a 7.3 and ZF6. The clutch will not release enough to shift into gear when stopped. With the clutch pedal fully pressed you can feel the truck start to creep when moving the shifter toward any gear. The only way I can get it in gear is to shut the engine off, shift it, then restart the engine. With it in gear and running it creeps with the pedal fully down as well. We've replaced everything: new clutch assembly and flywheel installed as a matching set, new pilot and throwout bearings, new fork and pivot fulcrum. We've tried at least three different pre-bled master/slave cylinders with no change and I know the line and hose is routed correctly. There is nothing worn on the clutch pedal where the push rod attaches, nothing worn on the pedal pivot and nothing flexing when stepping on the pedal. The pedal feels normal when stepping on it too, not spongy like there's air in it. What am I missing here? This thing is driving me nuts.
Rowdy, are you using a Ford pre-bled kit? I had a shop do mine, but the shop and multiple other people and vendors (Riffraff) insisted I use the Ford part only. The clutch and flywheel are South Bend.
The other thing to check is the firewall flex. Sometimes they can get weak due to cracks and the firewall with flex under pedal pressure. I have not seen this in person, but uncle warned my of it. Had it happen in his municipal fleet.
All of the cylinders have come from Carquest. They've warrantied two of them for us already. I'd have to check if they're still available through Ford. The fork is discontinued from Ford so I had to get that from south bend. There is nothing flexing on the firewall.
