Cleaning up my shop and ran across an Autolite 12127. Underneath it it looks like 0A7. Numbers prior to the 12127 have been rubbed off. Last two may have been AF. It's a single points distributor.
All distributors use base number 12127. That's why those 5 numbers are not stamped but are cast into the housing - those 5 never change. The way to identify one distributor from another is by the changing prefix and suffix characters.
The 0A7 indicates January 7th of either 1960 (doubtful), 1970, or perhaps 1980 (doubtful). I looked through the 1970 distributor listing and don't see one ending in AF. I'm not sure how to take it any further.
Take a picture of the whole distributor. It's easy to tell if it is for Windsor, 335 series or 385 series or possibly an FE. The Windsors used a smaller diameter distributor gear than the 335's or 385's, but the same housing.
