I don't know if it's Chinese or not.
And I don't know how to describe exactly what the material is either. I only know that it's affordable, durable, maintainable, and functional.
Still, there are so many choices out there these days. Tuxmat isn't for everyone, I'm sure.

but a quick google says it’s a Canadian “company” that manufactures them in china. In the past 4 or 5 years there is probably 4 or 5 Chinese made floor mat companies that popped up. I like the coverage concept, but need to experience in person.
